An Evening with Author Lisa Vihos (FREE)

Lisa Vihos, poet laureate of Sheboygan, will share excerpts from her debut novel, The Lone Snake: The Story of Sofonisba Anguissola (available at WordHaven BookHouse). Lisa will answer questions and share some things she learned about writing historical fiction. Don't miss this insider's view on the creation of this compelling, lyrical novel!

Lisa Vihos received her BA in Art History from Vassar College in 1981 and an MA in Art History from the University of Michigan in 1985. She worked as an art museum educator for twenty years in Los Angeles and then here, in Sheboygan. 

Since  2011, Vihos has published four chapbooks of her poetry and has received multiple awards from the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters. She's served as an organizer for 100 Thousand Poets for Change and been a five-time guest blogger for the Best American Poetry. 

She''s edited three poetry anthologies and was the founding poetry editor of Stoneboat Literary Journal, a post she held for ten years. In 2020, Vihos was named the first poet laureate of Sheboygan where she hosts the podcast, Poetry on Air.
