Author Event: Book Reading and Gift Making w/ Michael Leannah (FREE)

Local Author, Michael Leannah, will read from his Children’s Books (Most People, Most Days, and Goodnight Whispers) and will then demonstrate how to use the messages of kindness, positive thinking, and living in the moment to make a lovely gift for someone. Materials for the gift-making activity will be available.

Michael Leannah is a former elementary school teacher and a writer of fiction and nonfiction for children and adults.

His latest picture book, Most Days (Tilbury House, 2021), was recognized as one of Kirkus’ Best 100 Picture Books of 2021. Its companion book, Most People (Tilbury House, 2017) was reviewed favorably in the New York Times. A third book, Goodnight Whispers (Familius, 2018), has seen good reviews also.

Mike’s book Something for Everyone, the history of a Wisconsin department store chain, won the Midwest Independent Publishers Association Award for best regional text. He is a contributing author and editor of the book Well! Reflections on the Life and Career of Jack Benny. His radio plays have won national honors.

Mike has a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His stories and articles have appeared in a variety of magazines in the United States and Australia. He is the creator of the We Think with Ink writing program for elementary and middle school students.

He lives in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
