Found/Blackout Poetry Workshop w/ E L Block

Found/Blackout Poetry is a type of poetry created by taking words, phrases, and sometimes whole passages from other sources and re-framing them as poetry by making changes in spacing and lines, or by adding or deleting text, thus imparting new meaning. When this poetry is then incorporated with imagery, or images are used as part of the re-framing process, it becomes Visual Poetry. A variety of substrate and content materials will be included. Participants are welcomed to bring their own journal, notebook, or sketchbook to work in if they prefer. Instruction and examples will be provided, as well as personalized guidance as you work. We will reserve time at the end of the workshop for anyone who might like to share their poetry with the group.
