Join retired Hallmark Humor Writer Chris Brethwaite for a two-hour workshop on how to be the funniest person you can be! Chris will talk about why we find things funny, discuss the main categories of humor, offer a variety of tips and tricks on how to up your humor game, and lead the group in a number of voluntary humor writing exercises that are sure to fill the workshop with smiles, chuckles, and laughter.

Chris worked for Hallmark Cards for 27 years, and wrote for every humor line the company has, including licensed properties such as Peanuts, Garfield, WarnerBrothers and Disney. From 2003 to 2015 Chris was the lead writer for Hallmark’s popular character Maxine.
Chris is a cum laude graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University, and holds a graduate degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in film from Baker University’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies in Overland Park, Kansas. He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri, but has become quite fond of the Sheboygan area.
