Local Author, Chris Knospe, will teach folks about how to self-publish their novels!

Before beginning a prestigious part-time career as a co-author of a book series at the age of 45, Chris attended school at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI, starting out majoring in Music Education and ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus in the trombone. 

Continuing his education at the University of Wisconsin Madison in music performance, it wasn’t long before Chris put the brakes on his music career in a dramatic fashion. To this day he has had minimal interactions with the lonely trombone that resides in his closet. 

After this, he was a thrown an employment lifeline by his future co-author and friend since grade school, JK Galioto, and was offered a job as a Network Administrator for a medium sized public accounting firm in Edina, MN. After a few years in this position, he moved to Sheboygan, WI for a position with Charter Communications, now doing business as Spectrum. Chris has recently left this position for work as an IT consultant. 

A few times during 2018, Chris was approached by Mr. Galioto who wanted him to co-write a book with him involving six friends, loosely based on their group of friends who are still close and see each other multiple times a year since the 1980’s. He had an idea for a book that would send their exaggerated out-of-shape middle age literary doppelgangers through a portal in Alaska into a fantasy realm.  

Sometime in 2019, he approached Chris once again and indicated he still wanted him to write a book with him and Flaming Fist Publishing, LLC, was born.

Neither of them have formal writing training, but they have worked with experts to smooth out the kinks. Beyond that, he’s learned a lot about the self-publishing process and he hopes that his experience will allow him to help others.
