Being a parent/caregiver can be a challenging, isolating, and all-encompassing endeavor and when your kids have unique needs, it can be even more overwhelming. Resources can be scarce or nonexistent. There often is no playbook. It's important to find like-minded people who "get it." In this monthly support group, parents of kids with unique/challenging needs and/or behaviors will have the chance to connect, share stories, and supportive strategies for navigating through parenthood without losing your mind (or your sh*t) (Please note: this is a support group and NOT a therapy group.)
Chris is an adoptive parent of two children (now teenagers). Chris has a background in social work, counseling and hospital chaplaincy. She currently is a parenting coach and is author of the book Broken, Brave and Bittersweet: Forging fiercely through disability, parenthood and other misadventures.
